Bakgrund

Shandong provinsen av folkrepubliken i Kina och Västmanlands län i Sverige har byggt en långvarande relation sedan 1994. Sedan det första genomförandet av de två provinserna, har banden stärkts. Nu har båda sidorna ett intresse för att fortsätta stärka deras relation genom den pågående utvecklingen av samarbetet.

De områden som det fokuseras mest på är innovation, teknik, energi, hållbar utveckling, utbildning, kultur och turism.

I. När de två provinserna först träffades 1993, var meningen en kampanj för byte och tekniskt samarbete mellan dem, och sambund för att utnyttja respektives styrka och fördelar. När detta är gjort har vi också genomfört ett uppmuntrande framsteg.

1. The two sides highly praise the exchange of visits of top leaders of Shandong, which have further strengthened the mutual understandings and friendship and have greatly promoted economic co-operation.

 

2. The two sides highly value the co-operation between enterprises of Shandong and Västmanland and agree that such co-operation is sure to be enlarged and come to a great success.

 

II. Governor Ingemar Skogö and the delegation have met Vice Governor Mr Xia Geng and they recall the long existing friendship and are looking forward to a bright future. The visit of the Swedish delegation begun in Beijing with a meeting with the Swedish ambassador Lars Fredén. Meetings have also been held with the Swedish Trade Council in Beijing and with Chaoyang Vice-District Mayor. The delegation has visited the cities Jinan, Liaocheng, Weifang and Qingdao in Shandong. Meetings have been held with representatives of Shandong Government, City Mayors and business representatives in Shandong.

 

III. The successful outcome of the mutual work that has been done will now be confirmed and the further steps towards many more years of fruitful co-operation will be established. In that spirit the two sides agree that the focus areas for the 2012 and the future are Innovation, Technology, Energy, Sustainable Development, Education, Culture and Tourism.
