the Linnaeus Garden

Being bigger than Jesus is something that no one in the world can claim -- until now.

A new study of Wikipedia has found that Carl Linnaeus is the most influential person on Wikipedia and it means the 18th century Swedish biologist is more influential than a clutch of personalities such as Michael Jackson and Jesus Christ.

The whole horticulture world has great respect on Carl von Linnaeus. Linnaeus is a Swedish botanist, physician, and zoologist, who laid the foundations for the modern scheme of binomial nomenclature. He is known as the father of modern taxonomy, and is also considered one of the fathers of modern ecology.

Linnaeus received most of his higher education at Uppsala University, and began giving lectures in botany there in 1730. In the 1740s, he was sent on several journeys through Sweden to find and classify plants and animals. In the 1750s and 60s, he continued to collect and classify animals, plants, and minerals, and published several volumes. At the time of his death, he was one of the most acclaimed scientists in Europe.

The Linnaeus Garden was the first botanical garden in Sweden founded in 1655 by Olof Rudbeck the elder. It is laid out in the French Style and restored following Linnaeus' and Carl Hårleman's design from 1745. Today approximately 1300 species are grown here. All known to have been cultivated by Linnaeus and arranged according to his own system.

Inspired by the Linnaeus Garden, YES International Group has created an innovative design. The whole garden from above just look like the Chinese character "瑞", which means nice, harmonic and it is also the first part of the word "Sweden" in Chinese.
